Bringing Hope To The Family - Students

Robert Abigaba

Bio: Robert is a male Ugandan age 17 years and a total orphan. He came to Bringing Hope to the Family when a friend told his older sister, who was 15 years old, that Bringing Hope to the Family helps orphans. His older sister came to the office and explained their situation and needs to she staff members. She had dropped out of school to help care for her younger siblings. Robert, who was the second born, was in primary 7 at the time of 14 years old. They were left alone in the house to care for themselves and their sick younger sibling, often having to find food on the streets. Their maternal uncle wanted to sell their house and land in an attempt to chase the children away. When Bringing Hope to the Family was made aware of the situation, a staff member went for a home visit. A chairperson of the community explained more of the children’s issues and that the children had nowhere to go, only to wait for what would happen next. Robert and his siblings were brought to Home Again orphanage when he was 13 years old.

Education: Robert completed primary seven in Bwahurro primary school and went to Kaihura parents secondary school currently promoted to senior four.

Hobbies: He likes watching and chatting with friends.

David Asingire

Bio: David is a male young Ugandan aged 19 years and an orphan who lost the father and the mother is alive but sickly. David’s father died of HIV and the mother also is HIV positive. After the death of the father David had to drop out of school to help his mother take care of her other siblings as David is the second boy and the firstborn among the boys. When they heard about Bringing Hope to the Family, David and her sickly mother came to seek for the assistance of David to go back in school and were granted unto him. Later after some days the mother disappeared leaving them alone in the house where the children after knowing \bringing Hope they came to seek for assistance and they were picked and placed in the orphanage. David has four siblings of which all were left alone in the house and Bringing Hope to the |Family brought them in the orphanage. David is now studying well and his performance is good with high Hopes of changing his family from dependency to self-sustainability.

Education: David came when he was in primary five and completed his primary seven in High Hope nursery and primary school and later joined Mandela secondary school where after four years he had to do his final examinations and we are still waiting for the results but we hope to depend on his performance that his goal will be achieved.

James Atuhaire

Bio: James is a male Ugandan age 16 years old and a total orphan. James lost both of his parents at the age of thirteen years. He was left alone in the house to care for himself and his two younger brothers. This caused James to drop out of school for the two years he was caring for his siblings. He struggled to be able to raise school needs for his siblings, which also caused his siblings to drop out of school for one year. As they were struggling to get food, a well-wisher saw them and reported them to Bringing Hope to the Family. When the home visit was made, the children were found in a sorry state, even without food in the house. Without anyone to care for them, the decision was made to bring them to Home Again orphanage. James and his siblings are now all very happy in the orphanage and attending school again. James currently attends Nyakasura School. He is very active, well disciplined, and doing very well academically.

Education: James went to High Hope nursery and primary school where he completed his primary seven with first grade and went to Nyakasura school currently he is promoted to senior three. And with very good performance.

Hobbies: He likes watching TV, reading storybooks and playing soccer. When he is older, James aspires to be a Medical doctor, nurse, or health worker. He enjoys playing soccer, reading storybooks, and watching TV.

Goals: James wants to be a medical doctor, a nurse or any health worker because the parents died due to lack of medical care.

Richard Baguma

Bio: Richard is a male Ugandan aged 18 years who lost the father that was caring for him and the mother abandoned him while he was still an infant up to date. He lost the father in an accident and left with the stepmother who later grew severely sick due to stress caused by children who were left with no other relative for support and also the stepmother was HIV positive. This stress the stepmother suffered from caused her to commit suicide which we intervened quickly and was taken for rescue and later as an organization we had to rescue the children and bringing them to the orphanage for care and support. Richard is studying well and well contented with his Education. He loves school very much and he demonstrates a good discipline to his fellow children. He is now living in the orphanage after the mother failing to exist to take care of him. He loves God and leads others spiritually.

Education: Richard went to High Hope nursery and primary school where he completed his primary seven with second grade and was taken to Kabalega secondary school.

Hobbies: He likes playing Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Preaching.

Joan Kabasinguzi

Bio: Joan is a female Ugandan aged eighteen years who lost the father in an accident and the mother HIV positive. After the death of the father, the mother because of stress and sickness, she was traumatized and committed suicide whereby Bringing Hope to the family was alerted and we had to run to rescue the mother by taking her for treatment in the hospital and Joan plus her other four siblings were brought to the orphanage. Joan came at the age of six years and in primary two and currently, she has completed senior four. Joan is a very active and disciplined girl who loves God and we hope she will achieve what she needs.

Education: She went to High Hope nursery and primary school where she came with first grade AND WENT To Mandela secondary school where she has now completed her senior four examinations and we are still waiting for the results.

Hobbies: She likes charting with friends, watching movies and reading the Bible.

Robert Kabiito

Bio: Robert came to BHTF at the age of 10 years, hopeless with jiggers all over his feet, after being picked from the streets of Kaihura by the local leaders.

Education: Robert is a male Ugandan aged 20 years old in university at Mountains of the Moon University taking a degree in banking and financial management

Aston Kajara

Bio: Aston is a male Ugandan aged 16 years and total orphan who grew within the orphanage after the death of his mother and the father is unknown. Aston after the death of the mother was left in the house alone with the siblings at the age of five years looking after one another. Before Aston was brought to the orphanage, He was staying with her older sister aged fifteen years and a caretaker with another younger sibling of nine months who was HIV positive and sickly. When the bay felt severely sick, He was brought to Hope Again medical clinic by the older sister whereby the medical staff had to inquire about the mother and from that time as bringing hope we had to get their story and we decided to visit the home. When Bringing Hope visited the village and saw the family, the entire village decided that the best solution for them was to take them. That’s when Aston came into the orphanage. He is now well in the orphanage and attending school well. He is academically active and we hope to get the best Doctor in Future.

Education: He went to High Hope nursery and primary school where he completed with 1st grade and went to Mandela Secondary school up to date and currently he will be joining senior four and a candidate for O level.

Hobbies: He likes reading books and playing basketball.

Goals: He wants to be a medical doctor of which depending on his performance he will achieve it.

Christopher Kasangaki

Bio: Christopher is a young male Ugandan aged 19 years who lost the parents while he was still very young. He started staying with the aunt who is married and after two young, the man rose against the aunt that she should find where else to put Christopher and Christopher's father also died. When the quarrel rose high, the aunt decided to come to Bringing Hope to ask for the assistance of the boy and bringing Hope granted her permission. Now Christopher is studying well and very active academically.

Education: Christopher went to High Hope nursery and primary school where he completed his primary education with first grade and went to Mandela secondary school where he had to complete his senior four and we are still waiting for results. According to his performance, we Hope Christopher will achieve his dream.

Hobbies: He likes watching and reading the Bible.

Joseph Kugonza

Bio: Joseph is a male Ugandan age 17 years old and he is an orphan. Joseph was brought to bringing hope when he was 12 years old. He lost his father and his mother was unable to care for him after his father’s death. The father had many wives of which after his death his properties were grabbed and Joseph’s mother being ignorant never grabbed anything for her children. After the death of the father, Joseph and his siblings were dropped off at the school because of too much stress the mother had, she had to develop mental retardation up to date. Joseph has 7 siblings, two sisters, and five brothers, all of which have different mothers.

Education: Joseph attended Kinyara primary school in Masindi District from primary one to primary five. After being brought to Home Again, he has completed primary seven at Hope Academy currently called High Hope nursery and primary school. He started senior one at Nyakasura School. Joseph is doing very well in school and is very intelligent. He is currently joining senior three in the same school.

Hobbies: He likes playing soccer and basketball and likes smiling and laughing so much.

Goals: He desires to be a surgeon Doctor or any medical personnel.

Joseph Kwolekwa

Bio: Joseph is male Ugandan aged 19 years who is not an orphan but the father is a well-known drunkard person and the mother is mentally retarded. Joseph used to eat from garbage where Bringing Hope staff met him and decided to rescue him from that. Joseph has two sisters and three brothers of who all stay in the orphanage and they were all feeding on town garbage. Joseph when he was rescued, he gained health and become active academically. Hope after his education he will rescue his siblings.

Education: Joseph came to bringing hope to the family at the age of twelve years old in primary three and now he is nineteen and has completed senior four in Nyakasura secondary school and we are still waiting for his results.

Hobbies: He likes playing basket ball, Charting and watching movies.

Goals: He wants to be a medical worker.

Grace Namara

Bio: Grace is female Ugandan aged 16years and a total orphan who stays in the orphanage after the death of the parents. Previously, she was staying with the grandmother who grew severely weak thus reaching the extent of failing to find food for the children. She has two more siblings who are also total orphans. She is healthy and academically she tries her best to see that she studies. On top of that, she is disciplined and loves Christ. She attends Sunday services every week and loves God from the bottom of her heart.

Education: She went to Hope Academy nursery and primary school currently called High Hope Nursery and primary school where she completed her primary seven and currently she is joining senior four at Nyakasura secondary school.

Hobbies: She likes playing with her friend and chatting.

Goals: She wants to be a medical worker either nurse or doctor.

Priscilla Nsita

Bio: Priscilla is a female Ugandan aged seventeen years and a total orphanage. Before Priscilla came to the orphanage; she was taking care of her Young brother and a sister. After the death of her parents, she was left with other older siblings to care for them where Bringing Hope came in to construct for them a semi-permanent house as they were left in a grass thatched house linking. Slowly by slowly each older sibling kept on going and the girls went for marriage and the boys went to look for work to sustain themselves where Priscilla and the younger siblings were left behind without an adult. Bringing Hope to the family staff after visiting them, they saw that they were starving due to lack of food and they were brought to the orphanage for care. Now Priscilla is studying and hoping for a brighter future.

Education: Priscilla went to High Hope nursery and primary school where she completed her primary seven with 2nd grade and went to Mandela secondary school where currently she is promoted to senior four.

Hobbies: She likes midwife children and charting plus watching movies.

Goals: She likes to be a midwife or any other medical worker because her village lacks enough medical workers to help people in their health.

David Tumukugize

Bio: David is a male Ugandan age 20 years and a total orphan since 6 years old. David came to Bringing Hope to the Family after the death of both of his parents. David and his siblings were left in the house without any adult to care for them. His older brother by that time was 7 years old and they stayed in the house for 5 months feeding on the food the parents had left behind. When a village visit was done by a community leader, he saw the two children and recommended them for help at Bringing Hope to the Family. At the time, Bringing Hope to the Family was just beginning and had no orphanage. They were brought to the organization and David was sent to a foster family for 5 years until the orphanage was built. He was then brought back to Bringing Hope to the Family so that he could have a home closer to school since his school day ended at 7 pm. David stayed in the orphanage and was able to attend school. David came to Home Again when he was in primary 3. David is currently attending university and is studying to be a hotel manager at the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Institute in Jinja.
